The Experience

“You ever tried rillons?” our guide, Sandrine, asked as she handed me a little plate in the first winery. At the second stop, we walked straight into a working cellar — barrels everywhere, that sharp yeasty smell in the air. There’s something about standing in a vineyard with a glass in your hand while someone local tells you their family’s story — I still think about that view over the fields as afternoon faded.
