The experience

Three and a half hours gets you from central Aix en Provence to the wine region at the foot of the Sainte-Victoire mountain and back. Your guide drives the group, up to 8 people, in an air-conditioned minivan, arriving at the first estate about 30 minutes after pickup. The two wineries are family-owned and award-winning, chosen to show different approaches to winemaking: you'll move between the cellars, aging rooms and bottling lines, seeing how each estate works rather than just tasting at a bar.

The tasting itself covers about 9 wines across the three colors the region is known for: reds with character and finesse, aromatic or food-friendly rosés, and crisp whites. Your guide walks you through the soil, climate and grape varieties that define the terroir, and explains the practical side: picking, pruning, green harvesting and the choices that shape what ends up in the bottle. The conversation stays relaxed and educational, not a lecture. You're back at the meeting point near Cours Mirabeau by around 12:15pm.
