A private snowmobile safari in Rovaniemi puts you on your own machine (or in a sled if you prefer) with a guide leading you through snow-covered Lapland for four hours. You'll navigate frozen landscapes and forest trails, stop at scenic hilltops, and finish with a meal of flame-grilled salmon, sausages, marshmallows and hot drinks prepared right in the forest. Children over 2 can join. Those over 140 cm can ride behind an adult on a snowmobile.

The experience

You ride a snowmobile into Lapland's wilderness with your own private guide: no crowds, no set route beyond the guide's choice of terrain. The experience centers on what you do: handle the machine yourself across snow-covered forests and frozen open ground, climb to hilltops for views, and stop when the guide decides it's time to eat. If you don't hold a Finnish driver's license or prefer not to ride, children over 140 cm can sit behind an adult on the snowmobile, and younger children travel in a sled pulled by the guide's machine. Solo riding is available for an extra fee if you want the machine entirely to yourself.

The meal happens in the forest, not back at a lodge. Your guide prepares flame-grilled salmon, sausages, marshmallows and hot drinks over a fire while you're still deep in the wilderness. Thermal clothing is provided so you stay warm during the ride and the stop. The whole outing runs about four hours, with roughly one hour of actual driving time. The rest is the ride itself, the meal break, and the journey back. Fuel and traffic insurance are included, and a guide who speaks English leads the whole thing.

The minimum group is two participants, so you can book just yourself and one other person, or bring a family. A six-seat sleigh option exists if your group prefers not to ride snowmobiles at all. Public transportation to the meeting point is available nearby, and pickup from your accommodation can be arranged.
