The experience

Three hours of snowshoeing through the Arctic forest near Levi starts with a minivan ride from your hotel to the wilderness location. Once there, you'll strap on the high-quality snowshoes provided and head into the deep snow on foot: no skis, no motorized transport, just you moving through the landscape the way people have for at least 3,500 years. The guide leads you through the pristine nature of Lappish terrain, stopping to point out compositions and light, teaching you tricks for your own landscape photography as you go.

Midway through, you'll build a fire together and settle in for a longer break with hot drinks and light snacks while the forest stays quiet around you. This is when the guide often shares more detailed photography techniques, and when you might spot wildlife if the day brings it. The pace lets you absorb the scale of the place instead of rushing through it.

Before you leave, the guide gives you a password to access the edited photo collection from your group's hike: images the guide has already processed and organized for you to download. This means you get both the photos you took yourself and a professional record of the day, ready to keep.
