The experience
The day starts with a 30-minute river cruise from Natadola Jetty to Robinson Crusoe Island, where you choose how to spend your time. Snorkeling around the island, swimming off the beach, a jungle bush walk to an ancient pottery site, or learning to weave and carve are all on offer: the activities shift based on weather and what appeals to you that morning. A cooking class teaches you to prepare Fijian dishes, or you can watch demonstrations of traditional weaving, carving and pottery instead.
Lunch is a lovo, food cooked in an earth oven, served as a buffet with a live performance of traditional Fijian dance featuring fire and knife dancing. The island resort has change rooms, showers, a pool, a licensed beach bar and a tea and coffee station available to day-trippers. You'll also receive a welcome briefing with juice and fried coconut when you arrive. A fuel surcharge of FJD15 per adult and FJD7.50 per child (ages 4–12) is payable at the Robinson Crusoe counter when you check in.
Hotel pickups begin approximately two hours before the 10am departure, depending on where you're staying in Nadi or Denarau. The return transfer to your hotel takes roughly one to one-and-a-half hours. Vegetarian lunch options are available if you request them at booking. Let the operator know any dietary needs in advance.
