The experience

The tour starts with pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza and heads straight to the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Your Egyptologist guide shares the history of the Pharaohs and the construction of these monuments while you explore the plateau and photograph the Great Sphinx. The whole Giza stop runs around three hours, and you move at your own pace: no rushing through, no waiting for a group to catch up. If you want to enter one of the pyramids, you can arrange that separately with your guide.

After the pyramids, you break for lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant for about an hour. Then it's on to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the newest and largest archaeological museum in the world, where you spend roughly 90 minutes seeing the complete Tutankhamun collection and other ancient treasures in a modern setting. The whole day runs seven to eight hours from pickup to drop-off, all in a private vehicle with bottled water included.
