Spend a full day in the water at three separate reefs without arranging the boat or the food.

A full-day snorkeling trip from Marsa Alam to Hamata Island and two neighboring reefs, with boat transport, a guide in multiple languages, all snorkeling equipment, lunch on board and hotel pickup included. The boat departs around 10 a.m. and returns by late afternoon, stopping at Syal Island, Shawaret Island and Um El Sheikh Island for roughly 45 minutes of snorkeling at each site. Nature reserve taxes are an optional add-on at checkout.

The Experience

The boat leaves the jetty around 10 a.m. and heads to Syal Island first, where the sandy bottom and coral formations hold dense schools of colorful fish. You get roughly 45 minutes in the water there before moving to Shawaret Island for another half-hour snorkeling session. Between stops, the crew serves a freshly cooked lunch on board as you cruise toward Um El Sheikh Island, your third and final reef, where you'll spend another 30 minutes underwater. The boat departs Marsa Alam with all snorkeling gear already loaded, so you arrive ready to enter the water.

A guide who speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or another language travels with the group and stays on board. All transfers happen in a private air-conditioned vehicle — pickup from your hotel in the morning, return after the boat docks around 3:30 to 4 p.m. Food and drinks are included throughout the day, as are all service charges and taxes, so there are no hidden costs once you've booked. The trip suits all fitness levels, and infants can sit on an adult's lap during the boat ride.

What's the water like for snorkeling at Hamata Island and the nearby reefs?

The three islands — Syal, Shawaret and Um El Sheikh — sit in clear Red Sea water with coral formations and schools of colorful fish. Each stop gives you roughly 45 minutes to snorkel, and the sandy beaches and shallow reefs make the sites accessible whether you're experienced or new to snorkeling.

How long is the full day, and when does the boat leave?

The trip runs about eight hours total. The boat departs around 10 a.m. and returns to the jetty between 3:30 and 4 p.m., after which your driver takes you back to your hotel.

Is snorkeling equipment included, or do I need to bring my own?

All snorkeling gear is provided on the boat — mask, fins, snorkel and wetsuit if needed. You don't need to arrange or carry anything yourself.

What does lunch include, and when do we eat?

A freshly cooked lunch is served on board between your second and third snorkeling stops. Drinks are included throughout the day as well.

Does the price cover everything, or are there extra costs?

The price includes all food, drinks, snorkeling equipment, the guide, transfers and service charges. Nature reserve taxes of 5 euros per person are optional and added at checkout if you choose them.

What languages does the guide speak?

The guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French and one additional language, so you can ask questions and get information in your preferred language.
