The sound and light spectacular at Giza pyramids is a nightly theatrical show in Cairo where the Sphinx narrates the history of the three main pyramids and the pharaohs who built them. A guide picks you up from your hotel, drives you to the site, and you watch a one-hour performance that illuminates each pyramid in sequence while speakers recount the reign of Cheops, Chefren, Mykerinus and figures like Nefertiti and Tutankhamun. The Experience

The show opens with the Sphinx lit up against the night sky, and from there the narration moves through the construction of the pyramids and the lives of the pharaohs who commissioned them: Thutmosis IV, Akhnaten, Nefertiti, Tutankhamun. Each pyramid gets its own moment of illumination as the story unfolds. You sit in a reserved area facing the monuments while the light and sound work together to move the narrative forward. The whole performance runs one hour.

Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you don't arrange your own transport to the site. A private guide travels with you in an air-conditioned vehicle. If English isn't your language, you can listen to the show through a headphone system in Spanish, Italian, French or another option, or the operator can arrange a guide who speaks your language. The first nightly showing is always in English. Later shows can be arranged for other languages if you book ahead.
