The experience

The day starts at the Giza Pyramids, where you stand in front of one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. You have enough time to walk the site and take in the scale of what has stood for thousands of years. The guide moves with you through the complex, explaining what you're looking at, and the air-conditioned vehicle waits between stops so you're not managing heat and distance on foot alone.

From Giza, the route takes you to Saqqara and then Dahshur: two pyramid fields most visitors skip. These sites hold older pyramids and different architectural experiments, and because fewer people come here, you move through them without the crowds pressing in. Lunch happens midday, and snacks and bottled water travel with you throughout, so you're not hunting for food or stopping at tourist markups.

The Egyptian Museum closes out the afternoon. You see the treasure of King Tut Ankh Amun (the gold, the masks, the objects buried with him), and the guide walks you through what these pieces meant and how they survived. This is the biggest museum in Egypt, and having a guide means you're not wandering room to room guessing at what you're seeing.

How much time do I actually spend at each pyramid site?

The tour is 8 hours total, and the itinerary splits the day across Giza, Saqqara, Dahshur and the Egyptian Museum. You have enough time at each pyramid field to walk the grounds and take photographs. The guide controls the pace so you're not rushed between stops.
