The experience
The tour starts with hotel pickup between 8 and 9 am and heads straight to the Pyramids of Giza in an air-conditioned vehicle. You'll stand in front of the three main pyramids (Cheops, Chephren and Menkaure), and learn how the Great Pyramid was built over 14 to 20 years around 2560 BC as a tomb for Pharaoh Khofo. The guide helps frame shots as you move through the site, capturing the scale of the limestone blocks and your place among them.
After the pyramids, you stop for camel rides (available depending on which option you choose) before heading to the Great Sphinx. The guide explains how this limestone monument with a pharaoh's head and a lion's body was carved during the reign of Chephren to guard the pyramids. You then visit the Valley Temple, where pharaohs were purified and mummified before burial. Lunch is included in some options and taken with your guide before the return to your hotel.
The tour runs 2 to 3 hours total. Entry fees to the pyramid area are included. If you want to go inside one of the pyramids to see the narrow passageways and burial chambers, that costs extra. The photoshoot is a phone-based service, so the guide uses your own camera to capture the images, then delivers 20 to 30 edited photos depending on your package.
