The experience

The evening starts with pickup from your hotel in an air-conditioned coach. Your guide meets you in the lobby holding a sign with your name, then drives you to the Nile. Once on board, you have 2 hours to sail while the city lights and islands pass by: the river looks different at night, quieter, with views of how Egyptians live along the banks. Dinner is a buffet served during the cruise. Vegetarian options are available if you request them when booking.

The folklore show runs through the evening: belly dancing and Tanura (a spinning skirt performance that is part of Egyptian tradition) happen on the boat while you eat. The performances are live, not recorded, and they fill the time on the water. By the end of the 2-hour sail, the coach takes you back to your hotel. The whole outing, from pickup to drop-off, takes around 4 hours.
