Three distinct landscapes in one morning: mountain, beach, and dune.

A 5- to 6-hour tour from Punta Cana combining three separate experiences: a climb to Round Mountain for 360-degree views and a typical Dominican meal; a swim at the untouched Esmeralda Beach surrounded by coconut palms; and an adrenaline ride on buggies through Macao with a horse trek through vegetation. Private transportation, lunch, and a live guide in English, Spanish, Italian or French are included. Children from age 9 are welcome.

Step-by-step itinerary

Explore nature, beach, and adventure rides

  • Travel to Round Mountain by all-terrain transport
  • Enjoy 360-degree mountain views and take photos
  • Relax and eat typical Dominican lunch
  • Visit Esmeralda Beach and enjoy natural surroundings
  • Take horse ride through scenic path
  • Experience adrenaline with buggy tour

The experience

The tour starts with an all-terrain vehicle carrying you up a winding mountain road to Round Mountain, where the views open across the landscape. At the summit you can swing out over the drop in a hammock or on a rope swing (the kind of moment that fills a camera roll) before settling into a typical Dominican lunch at a viewpoint overlooking the 360-degree panorama. The meal and the pause give you time to absorb the scale of what you're seeing.

From there the route shifts to Esmeralda Beach, a natural stretch of sand with crystalline water and no resort development around it. Coconut palms line the shore and the water stays calm. The isolation is the point. You swim or wade in waters most travelers never find because the beach has no hotels, no vendors, no crowds. Just the sound of the ocean and the vegetation pressing close behind the sand.

The final leg moves to Macao, where you ride buggies across dunes and then mount a horse for a path through thick vegetation. The buggy section delivers the adrenaline spike. The horse ride slows the pace again and takes you deeper into the landscape. Private transportation moves you between all three stops, and your guide handles the logistics so you stay focused on each place as it arrives.
