Step-by-step itinerary

Waterfalls and Dune Buggy Adventure

  • Explore Damajagua Falls
  • Jump and slide on rocks
  • Use guides and vests if needed
  • Enjoy dune buggy ride
  • Visit Vergantin beach

The experience

Damajagua Falls is a chain of seven natural pools stacked down a mountainside, each one reachable by climbing and jumping between rocks. The water is fresh and cold. You'll swim in each pool and have the option to jump or slide from one level to the next. Guides and life vests are there if you don't swim. The climb is steady but not technical, and the pools themselves are the point. You're in the water most of the time at this stop.

After the waterfalls, you move to the dune buggy. You operate the vehicle yourself across a route that winds through small mountains, crosses water in the street, and ends at Vergantin Beach. The landscape is Dominican backcountry: vegetation, terrain, and the kind of driving that lets you feel the ground change under you. This is not a paved tour. The route is built around what the terrain offers.

The full day runs five to six hours. You'll have bottled water and soda throughout, an air-conditioned vehicle for transport between sites, and WiFi on board. A live guide speaks English or Spanish and stays with the group. Hotel pickup is included, and children from age two can come along: infants sit on an adult's lap during the buggy portion. The guide will tell you what to expect at each waterfall and help you navigate the rocks safely.
