The experience

Two hours on an electric kick-bike covers what would take a full day on foot. You start with the gear: a helmet, a personal radio receiver clipped to your jacket, and the kick-bike itself, which you stand on and propel with one foot while steering. The guide leads you through the old streets and past the major stops: Christiansborg Palace, the seat of Parliament since 1167 and the Royal residence since 1794; the Old Stock Exchange, a Renaissance building from 1619 that once anchored the city's trade; Kastellet, a 1663 fortress ringed by a moat where swans drift past the Gefion Fountain; and Nyhavn, the 1671 harbor lined with the colorful houses where Hans Christian Andersen lived. You'll see the Little Mermaid statue overlooking the water, pass the Copenhill building and the Reffen street food area, and ride past the Copenhagen Opera House, a modern structure completed in 2004 and financed as a gift to Denmark by the Maersk shipping company.

The radio system means you don't have to shout to hear the guide over traffic or wind: a practical detail that changes how much you actually absorb. Your guide is a local who knows the anecdotes and the layers: which buildings are Baroque, which squares connect the harbor to the city center, where the Royal Ballet performs, which church took 145 years to finish. You move at a pace that lets you look around and listen, not rush between stops. After the tour, you get a free city map, access to luggage storage if you need it, and the concierge can point you toward what comes next.

Top questions

What is the Little Mermaid statue actually like when you ride past it?

The Little Mermaid sits on a rock overlooking Copenhagen Harbour, and the tour passes it by water so you see it from the harbor side. You'll also see the open waters of the harbor, the Copenhill building and the Reffen street food area from the same vantage point.

Can I choose between the 1-hour and 2-hour tour, or do I have to book the full 2 hours?

You choose at checkout: a 1-hour E-Scooter tour or the 2-hour Electric Stand Up Bike tour. The 2-hour version covers the full route through all the major landmarks. The 1-hour tour covers fewer stops.

What is Christiansborg Palace and why does the tour spend time there?

Christiansborg Palace has been the seat of Parliament since 1167 and is the current residence of the Queen and Crown Prince. The tour passes the palace and its stunning Baroque buildings so you see both the political and royal heart of Copenhagen in one stop.

Do I need to know how to ride an electric kick-bike before I book?

The electric kick-bikes are designed to be ridden standing up, propelling yourself with one foot while steering. They're suitable for all physical fitness levels, and the guide leads the group at a pace that works for the whole group. You'll need to be at least 15 years old.

What happens if I can't keep up with the group or need a break?

The guide leads a private tour, so the pace is set for your group. The route passes through Copenhagen's streets and harbor areas, and you stop at each landmark, so there are natural pauses built into the 2 hours.
