The experience

You start with remote pickup and head straight to the Queen Emma Bridge (the Swinging Old Lady Bridge that locals call it) a working drawbridge in Willemstad that opens to let ships through. From there the route moves into Scharloo, a neighborhood of pastel-colored colonial mansions and street art that tells the island's story in paint and plaster. The Curaçao Liqueur Distillery comes next, where you taste the famous Blue Curaçao and learn how the drink became tied to the island's identity.

Fort Nassau sits on a hilltop overlooking the harbors and the sea beyond, and the views stretch across the whole northern coast. The Cathedral of Thorns is the last stop: an entirely handmade structure built from thorny branches into a spiritual space. Entrance to both the distillery and the cathedral are included, so there's no stopping to buy tickets between stops.

The tour runs three hours total, which leaves most of the day free. Your guide is live and speaks English, Spanish or Dutch, and pickup happens from wherever you're staying, so you don't need to find your way to a meeting point.
