Five hours covering three natural sites most first-time visitors miss on their own

A half-day eco tour in Willemstad that takes you through Hato Caves to see long-nose bats and limestone formations, to a salt lake where wild flamingos live, and ends with free time at Kokomo Beach on the western coast. The tour includes hotel or port pickup, a local guide who speaks English, Spanish or Dutch, bottled water, and a snorkeling mask. Children from age 3 are welcome, and the pace is relaxed enough for families and first-time visitors.

  • Guided tour inside Hato Caves
  • Visit flamingos natural habitat
  • Relax and snorkel at Kokomo Beach
  • Quick city tour in Willemstad shopping area

The experience

The tour runs five hours and moves between three stops without requiring you to arrange transport or navigate the island yourself. A local guide meets you at your hotel or cruise port and drives you in air-conditioned comfort to Hato Caves first, where you walk inside to see long-nose bats, a freshwater pool, limestone formations and a statue of the Virgin Mary. The guide explains what you're looking at as you move through.

From the caves, you head to a natural saltwater habitat where wild flamingos live. The guide shares details about the birds and their environment. If they're close enough, you get time to photograph them. Then the tour ends at Kokomo Beach on Curaçao's western coast: a bay with white sand, turquoise water and cliffs on either side. You have time to swim, snorkel with the mask provided, or simply rest before heading back. On the return drive, you pass through Willemstad's shopping district and can choose to be dropped at a specific location in the city or returned to your original pickup point.
