The Experience

The Underwater Museum sits in shallow water—depths from the surface down to 10 meters—so you don't need to be a diver to see the sculptures. Each of the 52 statues is handcrafted from ferrocement and arranged as a spiritual "Via Crucis" on the seabed. The water clarity is strong enough that snorkelers and swimmers can move through the collection, and a real Soko Jastreb J-21 military jet rests at 10 meters as a separate historical element. After the museum, a private beach with loungers, umbrellas and a beach bar gives you time to dry off and rest.

The Blue Lagoon at Drvenik Veli comes next—turquoise water that stays shallow, between half a meter and 5 meters deep, so the color holds all the way across. You swim here while the guide handles the boat. Then the route turns to Maslinica Bay on the island of Šolta, a small settlement built around a baroque castle from 1708 that now operates as a heritage hotel. The bay sits in front of an archipelago of seven islets, and the stop gives you a look at how island life actually works on the Dalmatian coast.

Trogir closes the day.
