The Experience

I didn’t expect the river to smell so clean — almost sweet, like wet grass after rain. We left Split in this minivan that was way cooler than I thought (air-con actually worked, bless). Our guide, Luka, kept making jokes about “Dalmatian time” as we wound through the hills. I tried to pronounce Blato na Cetini and he just grinned — apparently my Croatian needs work.
