The experience
The boat leaves Hvar city and heads first to Red Rocks, a natural attraction of vertically separated red limestone cliffs where cliff jumping is possible for those who want it. From there you move to Dubovica bay, a 30-metre pebble beach backed by a 17th-century noble house that locals consider the island's most beautiful beach. A small hidden cave sits on the right side of the bay with two entrances (one underwater and one in the shallow water) that you can dive or walk into. The operator also arranges wine tasting at Plenkovic, one of the island's most popular vineries, if that interests you.
In the afternoon the tour heads to the Pakleni Islands, an archipelago facing Hvar town. You'll start with the largest island, St. Klement, and visit Palmižana, a sandy beach known as the safest and most famous bay in the group. Free time there lets you swim, snorkel in the rich sealife, or walk the numerous paths through the botanical garden and pine woods. The final stop is Ždrilca and Mlini beach, two connected pebble beaches linked by a wild path, where several restaurants serve local food and wine.
The boat is an Aquamax RIB speedboat with a 250-horsepower engine. Snorkelling equipment and life jackets are provided, along with bottled water throughout the day. The operator has twelve years running tours in the area and offers the tour in English or Croatian.
