The experience

You launch next to restaurant Lavander and paddle east toward St. Peter, a 19th-century lighthouse that still marks Makarska harbor. The guide shares the peninsula's history as you pass, then the route curves around St. Peter and Osejava, where the cliffs rise steep enough that the only smell is pine and salt water. The paddle continues all the way to Nugal, one of Croatia's best-known beaches, where you pull ashore for a proper break: snacks, time to snorkel the shallows, and room to explore the smaller beaches nearby.

The kayaks are stable and the life jackets and waterproof bags come with you. Snorkeling gear is included if you want to use it. A guide in English or Croatian leads the whole group, which stays small. The return paddle follows the same route back to the start, and the whole outing takes three hours. Biokovo mountain rises behind the old town the whole time, visible from the water.

What’s included
