The experience
The ride starts in Vodnjan's old town, where you pass through churches before heading toward the fortress area. You enter the zone of seven fortresses and tour the largest one, getting a sense of the landscape's defensive history. The e-bike does the work on climbs, so the pace stays manageable even through rolling terrain.
Midway through, you leave the bike behind for a swim at a hidden beach: a break that breaks up the day and lets you cool off. On the return, the route passes Saint Foška, a small stone church surrounded by ancient olive trees with its own local legend. You'll also see the unusual stone structures called kažuns: three oversized ones built close together at one location, and a square kažun with extra rooms at another. The final stretch rides toward Pula with views across the water to the Brijuni islands.
The tour includes the e-bike, helmet, professional guide, tour photos and videos, a bottle of water, and insurance. The guide speaks English or Italian.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What are the kažuns I'll see on this tour?
Kažuns are traditional stone field houses built across Istrian farmland. On this route you pass two locations: one with three unusually large kažuns built close together, and another with a square kažun that has extra rooms and extensions added to the typical design.
Is the hidden beach part of the tour or do I need to bring my own gear?
The swim is built into the tour as a break from riding. Bring a swimsuit and a towel. The beach is included in the route and the guide leads you there.
How difficult is the e-bike riding for someone who hasn't cycled in years?
The e-bike handles the climbing, so the effort stays low even on hills. The tour is suitable for all fitness levels, though it does involve four hours of riding with one swim break, so a basic comfort on a bike helps.
Will I see the Brijuni islands up close or just from a distance?
You see the Brijuni islands across the water on the return ride toward Pula. They're visible from the route but the tour doesn't include a boat trip to the islands themselves.
What's the story behind Saint Foška church?
Saint Foška is a small stone church near Vodnjan surrounded by very old olive trees. Local legend credits it with miracles, and it's considered a spiritual place. The guide will explain the story when you stop there.
