Horseback Riding in Konavle Region from Dubrovnik
Two hours on horseback through Konavle forest, coastline and an archaeological village
Horseback riding activity in the Konavle Region departing from Dubrovnik with hotel pickup, a professional guide, and a small group of up to six riders. You ride for approximately two hours on an 11 km trail through forest paths, along the rocky coastline, and past the preserved ruins of Popovići village. The pace is slow and the trail is not demanding, suited to beginners and first-time riders. Helmet, snack with prosciutto, cheese, local wine and refreshing drinks are included.
The Experience
The day starts with pickup from your Dubrovnik hotel. Transport takes you to Kojan Koral, where your guide meets you and the other riders—no more than six total. After a brief introduction to the horses and the fundamentals of riding, you set out on the trail itself. The pace stays slow and the path is not steep, which is why 95% of the guests here are beginners or riding for the first time and still finish the ride without strain.
The ride covers 11 km through unexplored forest paths, then opens onto the Konavle rocks coastline where you can see across the water. Partway through, you pass through Popovići, a preserved archaeological village tucked into the landscape. The whole ride takes two to two and a half hours. Your guide stays with you the entire time, setting the pace and keeping the group together.
When you return to Kojan Koral, a snack is waiting in a quiet setting—prosciutto and cheese sandwiches, local wine, and refreshing drinks. The helmet is supplied, and transport back to your Dubrovnik hotel is included. Departures run Monday through Saturday, with pickup times shifting by season: 2:30 pm in April, September and October; 4:00 pm in May; and 5:00 pm from June through August.
