The experience
The zip lines start inside the rain forest near Rincon de la Vieja, where you'll move between platforms high in the canopy. Eight long lines carry you over waterfalls and through the forest, with views of Lake Nicaragua and the blue river visible when you're above the treetops. The lines are the main event, but the Tarzan Swing comes next. You'll swing across the river on a rope to reach the far bank, which is the moment most people remember.
After the ziplining and the swing, lunch is included at Blue River Resort & Hot Springs. The meal comes with a vegetarian option if you request it when you book. Once you've eaten, the resort's other facilities are available to you for the rest of the day: hot springs, change rooms and lockers are all there. The whole activity runs 10 hours from pickup, and a bilingual guide (English and Spanish) stays with the group throughout. Transport is in an air-conditioned vehicle, so the drive to and from Liberia is comfortable.
The minimum age is 4 years old, and children must be with an adult. There's a maximum waist size of 40 inches for the harness. The activity is suitable for all fitness levels, though it's not recommended for people with poor cardiovascular health or for pregnant travelers.

Is this one for you?You operate the zip lines yourself with a guide managing the safety systems, so this suits anyone who wants hands-on action rather than watching from a vehicle. The full 10-hour commitment includes travel time and lunch, so plan for most of your day. If you want just the ziplining without the resort time afterward, check whether a shorter option is available at checkout.
