Step-by-step itinerary

Adventure activities, lunch, and relaxation

  • Enjoy a delicious lunch
  • Horseback riding through dry forest
  • Relax in volcanic hot springs
  • Cover body with volcanic mud

The experience

The morning stacks five activities back-to-back: you zipline through the canopy, rock climb, swing on a Tarzan rope, walk a via Ferrata course and cross hanging bridges. A naturalist guide leads you through each one and handles all the gear. By midday you break for lunch to refuel before the second half of the day.

After lunch you ride horses through the dry forest and open pasture land. The afternoon winds down in the natural hot springs, where water flows directly from the volcano Rincon de la Vieja. You can soak in the pools and cover your body with volcanic mud. The volcano shapes the views throughout the entire day, visible from most of the sites you visit.

Transportation in an air-conditioned bus is included, and the guide speaks English or Spanish. The full day runs 10 to 12 hours. Specialized infant seats are available if you're bringing very young children, though the activity itself is recommended from age 7 onward and requires at least a moderate level of physical fitness.
