The day starts with a scenic drive south from Puntarenas to Herradura, stopping at the Tarcoles River where crocodiles measuring up to 19 feet long sun themselves along the banks. You'll have time to photograph them in their natural environment before heading to Vista Los Sueños Adventure Park in the rainforest. The park sits inland from the coast, and the drive gives you a look at the landscape before you choose which two activities to tackle.

At Vista Los Sueños, you pick two activities from six options. The zip line canopy tour takes you through the forest canopy; the ATV adventure runs through jungle terrain and past waterfalls; surfing lessons happen in the Pacific; horseback riding also reaches waterfalls; the chocolate experience tour walks through cacao production; and mountain biking covers the trails. You commit to your two choices 24 hours before the tour, so you can plan which combination fits your energy and interests. Lunch and water are provided during the day.

Round-trip transport from the port in Puntarenas is included, along with a bilingual guide who speaks English and Spanish. The tour runs 8 hours total and departs at 7:30 am, though pickup times vary depending on where your ship docks. If you book an ATV activity, a credit card is required to hold a $1,000 deposit (fully refundable), or you can purchase insurance for $25 per ATV instead.
