Step-by-step itinerary
Sunset catamaran sailing and snorkeling
- Board tropical sunset catamaran
- Enjoy Pacific coast scenery
- Swim in warm Pacific waters
- Use snorkeling equipment
- Explore marine life
The experience
The catamaran departs in the late afternoon and heads out along the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. You'll have snorkeling equipment on board, so you can drop into the water and see what lives beneath the surface. The guide will show you where the fish and reef are. Kayaks are also available if you'd rather paddle around on your own. The boat stays out through the sunset, which is when the light turns gold across the water and the coast.
Drinks are unlimited throughout the sail: beer, wine and soft drinks come with the booking, along with snacks. A local guide travels with you and speaks English or Spanish, so you can ask about what you're seeing in the water or along the shore. The whole outing runs four hours, which means you're back on land by early evening: time enough for dinner in town if you want it.
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you don't arrange your own transport to the beach. The catamaran is private, which means you're not sharing the boat with strangers. Children are welcome as long as an adult stays with them, and specialized infant seats are available if you're traveling with a baby.

Does the catamaran leave if the weather is bad?
The tour operates in typical Pacific coast conditions, but the operator will advise you if weather makes sailing unsafe. Contact them directly if you're concerned about conditions on your date.
