Sunset Catamaran Sailing & Snorkeling in Playa Flamingo
Sail out at golden hour, then choose your water: snorkel, kayak or paddleboard
A four-hour sunset catamaran in Playa Flamingo combines sailing, snorkeling, kayaking and paddleboarding in one outing, with round-trip transportation, an open bar, light lunch and all gear included. The boat departs in late afternoon and returns after dark. Live guides speak English and Spanish. Pickup is available from select hotels (Four Seasons, Andaz, Secrets, Riu, Planet Hollywood, Villas Sol) or arranged from other locations.
The Experience
The catamaran leaves in the late afternoon, timed so you're on the water as the light turns gold. You get four hours total—sailing out, time in the water, and the return trip after sunset. Round-trip transportation picks you up from your hotel (or a central point if yours isn't on the list), so the day starts and ends without a separate negotiation for a ride.
Once aboard, the open bar runs the whole time: drinks are there when you want them, and a light lunch arrives mid-outing. When you reach the snorkeling site, you choose what to do. Some people go in the water with snorkeling gear; others take out a kayak or a paddleboard and stay on top of it. The boat carries all three, so you can switch between them or stick with one. A live guide in English or Spanish is there the whole time, and the crew handles the logistics—you just show up and move between the options as the mood takes you.
The boat itself is a catamaran, which means a wider, steadier platform than a single-hull sailboat. The sea state and wind decide how much actual sailing happens on any given day, but the boat moves under sail when conditions allow it. Snacks are available throughout, and the experience is built for a shared group—you're not alone on the water, but the boat keeps the group size intimate enough that it doesn't feel crowded.

What's included in the price for the sunset catamaran?
The catamaran includes round-trip transportation from your hotel, all snorkeling gear, kayaks, paddleboards, an open bar for the full four hours, a light lunch, snacks, and all fees and taxes. You bring a swimsuit and sunscreen; towels are not provided.
How long does the whole outing take, and what time does it start?
The experience runs four hours total. The boat departs in late afternoon, timed to catch the sunset on the water, and returns after dark. Pickup happens before departure, so plan for the full afternoon from the time your hotel is collected.
Can I do snorkeling, kayaking and paddleboarding all in one trip, or do I have to pick one?
You can switch between all three during the four hours. The boat carries snorkeling gear, kayaks and paddleboards, so you choose what to do at each moment—some people snorkel for a while, then paddle, then float with a drink. The crew can help you move between them.
Is the guide included, and what language do they speak?
A live guide is included and speaks both English and Spanish. They're there throughout the outing to answer questions and help with gear or activities.
Which hotels have pickup included, and what if mine isn't on the list?
Pickup is included from Four Seasons, Andaz, Secrets, Riu, Planet Hollywood, and Villas Sol. If your hotel isn't listed, pickup can be arranged from another location; confirm the details when you book.
What happens if the weather is rough or the wind doesn't cooperate?
The catamaran operates in a range of sea conditions. Actual sailing depends on wind and waves on the day, but the boat moves under power if needed. The crew decides whether conditions are safe to go out; if they're not, the operator will reschedule or refund you.
