Bungee jump and canopy ziplining in La Fortuna: 150m jump over La Balsa river
Jump 150 meters above the river, then glide through the treetops on ten cables
Bungee jump and canopy ziplining activity in La Fortuna combines a 150-meter plunge above La Balsa River with a canopy course through cloud forest, including 10 ziplines across 1,045 meters, a hanging bridge, Tarzan swing and Superman cable. Hotel pickup, lunch and professional guide in English, Spanish or Italian are included; the full experience runs six hours.
The Experience
La Fortuna's cloud forest resort sits on 500 acres, and the day starts at the highest point. After a safety briefing and harness fitting, you walk to the first platform and begin the canopy section: ten cables strung between giant trees, each one dropping you deeper into the forest canopy. The route covers 1,045 meters total, connecting eight platforms and passing through a hanging bridge and the Tarzan swing. Birds, monkeys and sloths move through the same airspace. The cables are the longest views most people get of a cloud forest interior — the treetops block the ground, and the canopy itself becomes the landscape.
After lunch, you move to the bungee site on the La Balsa River. The jump platform is a trestle bridge 150 meters above the water. A certified jump master oversees the leap; the adrenaline rush comes from the freefall itself, not from a guide's narration. The plunge is the centerpiece, and it happens fast.
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you do not arrange transport from La Fortuna. The guide speaks English, Spanish or Italian. All equipment — harness, climbing gear, helmet — is provided. Lunch is part of the package. The activity runs six hours total and operates in all weather, so bring layers and waterproof gear if rain is forecast.

How many ziplines do I actually ride on in the canopy section?
Ten cables make up the canopy course, each one connecting platforms through the cloud forest treetops. The total distance across all ten cables is 1,045 meters.
What is the Superman cable, and is it different from the other ziplines?
The Superman cable is the longest and most exciting cable in the canopy section. You ride it in a horizontal, face-down position instead of the upright stance of the standard ziplines, which is why it has its own name.
How high is the bungee jump, and what is below it?
The bungee jump is 150 meters above the La Balsa River. You jump from a trestle bridge, and the river is the landing zone below.
Does the price include transport from my hotel in La Fortuna?
Yes, hotel pickup and drop-off are included. The operator collects you from your accommodation and returns you after the activity ends.
What do I need to bring, and what does the operator provide?
The operator provides all safety equipment — harness, climbing gear and helmet — and lunch. Bring water, sunscreen, sturdy closed-toe shoes and a change of clothes if you want to stay dry after the canopy section.
Can I buy a video or photos of the jump and ziplines?
A DVD of your activity is available to purchase separately at the end of the day; it is not included in the standard package.
