Summary

Rushing waterfalls, jungle zip lines and canyon swings in Costa Rica’s wild heart

You’ll feel your heart race on jungle zip lines, leap into cool waterfall pools, and laugh with local guides who know every hidden corner of ADR Waterfall Park. This tour packs in rappelling, canyon swings, snacks and lunch — plus hotel pickup — so all you need is courage (and maybe dry socks). Every moment feels real here.

experience

What’s the experience like?

There’s this moment right before you step off the platform — all you hear is water crashing somewhere below and the harness creaking a little. My hands were sweaty (not just from the humidity), but our guide David just grinned and said, “Pura vida!” like it was nothing. We’d driven out from Quepos that morning, bouncing along in a van with a few other half-awake travelers. The air smelled green — I know that sounds weird, but if you’ve ever been in the Costa Rican rainforest after rain, you get it.

The first zip line at ADR Waterfall Park felt like flying straight through a tunnel of leaves. I tried to look cool for the photographer but probably just looked terrified. There was this part where we did a free fall into a waterfall pool — colder than I expected, and my heart was pounding so hard I could barely hear anything for a second. Lunch later tasted better than any fancy meal; maybe because we’d spent the whole morning clinging to ropes and laughing every time someone screamed on the Tarzan swing. David kept pointing out birds and plants between activities — he even showed us some tiny frogs hiding under wet rocks. I still think about how alive everything felt there.

I didn’t expect to enjoy the dry rappel as much as I did (I’m not exactly graceful), but somehow it was less scary than the free fall bit. The guides made jokes in Spanish and English — even when I messed up my helmet strap, nobody rushed me. Halfway through we stopped for snacks at this little rancho where everyone swapped stories about which part freaked them out most. It wasn’t all adrenaline; sometimes you’d just stand there catching your breath while mist drifted through the trees and someone’s laugh echoed off the canyon walls. Kind of makes you want to stay longer than just one day trip from Manuel Antonio.
