The experience
You start from your hotel in Manuel Antonio or Quepos, picked up by minivan and driven to the zipline site. Once there, the guide gears you up and walks through the safety setup before you head into the canopy. The activity itself runs four hours, moving you across 20 platforms positioned high in the treetops. The longest cable stretches 450 meters, giving you open views of the valley as you glide across it.
The rainforest around you is working the whole time. Titi monkeys call from branches, sloths move through the canopy, toucans pass overhead, and if you're watching the right spot, you might catch poison dart frogs or iguanas. You're moving through their space, not watching from below, which changes what you notice. The guide points out wildlife and explains what you're seeing as you go.
The final cable gives you a choice. You can zip down as you have been, or you can add a rappel and a Tarzan swing to finish. Either way, the minivan brings you back to your hotel with lunch already included. The whole day is built around what your body does, not what you see from a seat.
What’s included

Is this one for you?Book this if you have a free afternoon and want to move through the rainforest yourself rather than watch it from below. A moderate level of fitness helps, since you're climbing, moving between platforms and managing cables for four hours. The guide adjusts the pace to the group, but this is not a passive experience. Children from age 5 can join when accompanied by an adult.
