Coffee Hacienda Experience Near Bogotá

  • Travel from Bogotá to coffee hacienda
  • Tour coffee plantations and learn process
  • Visit local market and taste exotic fruits
  • Enjoy typical regional lunch

The experience

The hacienda sits about an hour and a half from Bogotá, reached by a route that climbs through mountains and thermal floors where the altitude and soil make Colombian coffee grow. You arrive at the working plantation and move through each stage of the process: the plants themselves, manual grain collection, pulping and washing, drying, sorting and roasting. The guide explains what happens at each step and why the region's conditions matter. By the time you reach the grinding and brewing, you're tasting coffee that was on the plant weeks before.

Between the hacienda and lunch, you stop at a local market to taste exotic fruits grown in the same region: another agricultural product the area is known for. The typical regional lunch uses fresh ingredients and traditional recipes, eaten before the drive back to Bogotá. A bilingual guide (Spanish and English) leads the whole day, and transportation is included in the booking.

The tour runs eight to ten hours total. Infants can ride in a stroller or sit on an adult's lap. Service animals are welcome. All fitness levels can manage the pace.
