The experience
Hotel pickup starts the day, and you'll cross the south side of Bogotá by vehicle to reach the plantation near Fusagasugá. Traffic in the capital varies, so the timing shifts. You can check available pickup times if you want to return earlier. Once at Coffee Farm Coloma, a guide walks you through how coffee is grown, processed and roasted, and explains the differences between coffee types. You'll also see the rum distillery and watch how rum is made from start to finish.
Tastings are the heart of the visit: you try a variety of coffee drinks and rum samples on the farm. The guide covers the social and economic side of both industries in Colombia, so you understand what goes into the products beyond the flavor. Between the plantation tour and tastings, the day leaves room for an optional lunch stop in Fusagasugá if you want to eat at a restaurant of your choice.
Private transportation is included for the whole route, along with all fees, taxes and an insurance policy. Your guide speaks English or Spanish, depending on your preference. The return trip takes you back to your Bogotá hotel or accommodation.
