Monserrate sits at 3,152 meters above the city, a sacred site since indigenous times and now home to the Fallen Lord Church, completed in 1925. The cable car or funicular ride up is included, and you can opt for a Fast Pass to skip the ticket line. From the top, the city spreads out below. Back down, La Candelaria's narrow streets hold the Primatial Cathedral, Bolívar Square (the historic center where independence took shape), the Capitolio Nacional, and several museums: the Miguel Urrutia Museum for colonial and contemporary Colombian art, the Botero Museum for the country's most celebrated artist, and the Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center. The tour wraps in Chapinero Alto, a bohemian neighborhood where you'll walk past galleries and street art before stopping at Amor Perfecto for Colombian coffee and fresh pastries.
