The experience

Tequendama Falls is a natural waterfall formed by the Bogotá River, and the landscape draws visitors not just for its size but because the site has become central to efforts to clean the river and improve the city's water quality. The falls sit outside Bogotá proper, and the drive there is part of the itinerary. Once you arrive, you see the waterfall and learn its history from your guide.

The second half of the day takes you to Hacienda Coloma, a coffee farm in the Fusagasugá region where the terrain and climate have supported coffee growing for centuries. The hacienda's gardens and plantations are laid out so you can walk through them, and the staff walks you through how coffee is produced from plant to cup. At the end, you taste a cup of coffee made in the traditional way on the farm itself.

The tour runs eight hours total and includes a professional guide who speaks English or Spanish, entrance to both sites, lunch, transport by private vehicle, and medical assistance insurance. Hotel pickup is part of the booking. The day operates in all weather, so bring appropriate clothing for rain or sun.
