The experience

We left Bogotá just after sunrise: my coffee still warm in my hands as our guide navigated the winding road out of the city. The drive to Tobia takes a bit over two hours, but honestly, it flew by. You’ll notice the air gets heavier and sweeter as you leave the city behind. It smells like wet earth and fruit stands. Our guide chatted about local legends and pointed out a tiny bakery in Villeta where folks swear by their guava bread.

Once we reached Tobia, things got real fast. First up: an ecowalk through thick green trails. It wasn’t too tough. Just enough to get your heart going and your shoes muddy. Birds were everywhere. I caught flashes of yellow wings darting between branches. Then came the zip line. I’m not kidding when I say it’s one of Colombia’s highest: standing on that platform with my harness on, my palms were sweaty.
