The Experience

The bar is already warm when you arrive. From there, you move to an old house where the first Colombian beer was ever brewed, and your guide walks you through three periods of Colombian history — Colonial, Republican, Modern — and how beer and alcohol shaped the country's culture along the way. Then the tasting begins. Huitaca is first, a local brewery where you get a tropical pint that tastes nothing like what you'd expect from a beer made this close to the equator.
