The experience
The ranch sits four generations deep in the Eastern Plains, and the first day sets the rhythm: after a welcome and a guided walk through the ecological path, you ride horseback for four hours across the reserve at sunset. The second day starts with the morning milking, a working ranch task, then moves to a canoe ride through the waterways and a 4X4 safari. The third day includes a craft workshop and more riding or driving through the herds. The fourth day is rest: breakfast, hammocks, and the option to move at your own pace before you leave.
Horseback riding anchors the experience, but it is not the only way you move through the landscape. The canoe trips take you through ravines and water channels where the wildlife changes: different birds, different light on the water. The 4X4 sections cover ground faster and let you cover more territory when the riding has been long. All three methods of travel are built into the days, so you are not in the saddle every hour.
Lodging is in rooms at the ranch itself, not a separate hotel. Meals are Creole cooking, typical to the region, served three times a day, with outdoor dinners and hammock time built in. The guide speaks Spanish and knows the herds and the land. All risk insurance is included, and pickup from your hotel or starting point is arranged.

Is this one for you?Pickup is arranged from wherever you are staying, so you do not need a car or a separate transfer to reach the ranch. The 4-day length lets you settle into the rhythm of the place. The first day is the hardest ride, and the remaining days mix riding, water travel and vehicle time so no single activity dominates.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (11 to 17 years); Child (5 to 10 years); Infant (under 5): free.
What kind of wildlife will I see on the 4-day horseback riding safari?
The Eastern Plains reserve holds birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles and fish. The guide points out species as you ride and drive, and the canoe sections through the waterways show a different set of animals than the open grassland. The sunset ride on the first day is when the larger fauna are most active.
Do I need horseback riding experience to book this safari?
You should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness. The operator does not require prior riding experience, but four hours in the saddle on day one is the standard, so some comfort on a horse helps. The 4X4 and canoe sections on days two and three give your body a break from riding.
What is included in the 4-day package?
Horseback riding, canoe trips, 4X4 safaris, lodging at the ranch, all Creole meals, refreshments, a Spanish-speaking guide, pickup from your accommodation and all risk insurance are included. Cold and alcoholic beverages are not covered.
How does the schedule work across the four days?
Day one is a guided walk, Creole lunch, four-hour horseback ride and outdoor dinner. Day two starts with morning milking, includes a canoe ride and 4X4 safari. Day three has a craft workshop, lunch and riding or driving through the herds. Day four is a rest day with breakfast and hammock time before departure.
Where do I stay, and what are the rooms like?
You stay in rooms at the ranch itself, a typical llanero herd building. The ranch is a working cattle operation four generations old, so the setting is authentic to the region, not a resort. Hammocks are available during rest periods throughout the days.
