The experience
Seven Fairies Peak sits at the highest point in Yangshuo, and the tour starts there. You'll put on a Chinese reed hat, carry a small basket, and move through the rows picking your own tea leaves. The guide explains what to look for and how the plantation works. The atmosphere shifts as you move between the plants. The lodge sits at the center of the operation, and that's where you return to experience the traditional tea ceremony. You'll learn how to make tea the way locals do, taste what you've made, and understand the customs around it. The whole sequence (picking, returning, making) takes up the first part of the half-day.
From the plantation, the route climbs to Xianggong Hill. The drive passes quiet villages, different orchards, and the landscape opens up as you approach the summit. The walk itself is short, and the payoff is the view: the Li River Valley spreads below in a panorama of peaks and water. Depending on the time of day and the weather, you might catch sunlight and shadow playing across the ridges, clouds gathering in the valley, or rosy light at sunrise or sunset. The guide will point out what you're looking at and how the seasons change the view.
Two departures run each day (morning and afternoon), so you can fit this around the rest of your schedule. The guide speaks English, and the driver handles all transport from your hotel in downtown Yangshuo. The tour wraps up with a drive back to where you started.
