The experience

Your guide and driver pick you up from your hotel at 8:30am for the private transfer to Tianmen Mountain. You'll ride Asia's longest cable car, 7.5 kilometers, to the summit. Once there, the day opens into a sequence of high vantage points: you walk the Ghost Path 1,400 meters above ground, pass the Celestial Mountain Top and Glass Path, and take in views of the 99-Turn Road and the 999 steps that lead to Tianmen Gate from above. The route can shift. Your guide may use the cable car up and a bus down, or reverse the order, depending on conditions. You'll also have the option to take a chairlift or walk a footpath to see Tianmen temple before an escalator carries you to Tianmen Gate itself.

After descending, a shuttle bus takes you along Heaven-Linking Avenue to a local restaurant for lunch. The afternoon moves to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, where the glass bridge waits: 435 meters long, 6 meters wide, suspended 375 meters above the canyon floor. This is the only part of the Grand Canyon included in the tour. The wider scenic area and waterfalls are not covered due to time. Once you've crossed, your driver returns you to your hotel.

Is this one for you?The full day is needed to cover both Tianmen Mountain and the glass bridge with time for lunch, so this tour works best if you have a clear schedule and don't need to fit other activities into the same afternoon. Entrance tickets and cable car rides are paid separately to your guide on arrival, so budget for that cost beyond the tour price.
