The cable car is already moving when you board—8,452 meters of it, the longest in the world, and it climbs for about 30 minutes while the Zhangjiajie landscape unfolds below: dense forest, the 99 Bending Road snaking through valleys, rivers catching light. From there, the transmountain escalator carries you the rest of the way to the summit. Line B reverses this order, starting with the express cableway up through Tianmen Cave instead, so the cable car descent becomes your final move down the mountain. Either way, you end up on the glass skywalks at the top—transparent panels over a drop that makes your stomach register the height even when your brain knows you're safe.

The Gui Gu Walkway is the quieter part, a narrow path carved into the cliff face where mist swirls around you and the world feels very far away.
