The experience
Chilli Cool House sits in a traditional Chinese building near Liangjiaxiang Metro Station, where you'll be escorted to a private room and kitchen set up just for your group. After settling in with Gaiwan tea and traditional snacks, you move into the kitchen to watch or join a professional chef preparing classic Sichuan dishes. You'll follow along step by step as ingredients transform into the region's signature aromatic dishes, learning the stories behind the famous spices and seasonings that define Sichuan cooking.
The main event is a feast spread across the table: bold spicy dishes like Mapo Tofu alongside lighter vegetable plates, each one a true representation of the region's culinary heritage. Tea flows freely throughout the meal, and each guest gets one complimentary beer or soft drink. You can set up your own menu from more than 50 dishes, so the experience shapes itself around what your group wants to eat and learn.
The whole experience runs about four hours in a completely private setting: your own dining room, your own kitchen, no shared space or other groups. Chilli Cool can also arrange surprises in advance, like a birthday or anniversary celebration built into the meal.
Is this one for you?The guide speaks English, so you can follow the cooking instruction and conversation comfortably even if you don't speak Mandarin. This works well for families with children from age 3 up, and for groups of friends or colleagues who want to cook and eat together in a space that's entirely private.
