The experience

Your guide meets you at your hotel at 9am holding a name placard, then drives you to Stanley, the street built in the late 19th century that runs along the waterfront. From there the route climbs to Victoria Peak, the highest point on Hong Kong Island, where the views open across the harbor and the surrounding water. The Peak is also home to black kites and numerous butterfly species. Lunch happens here at your own cost, a typical Hong Kong snack, before the van takes you west to Lascar Row and the surrounding antique shops of West Point, where you'll find copper mirrors, electric fans, jade, watches, ancient coins and Qing dynasty vases.

The final stops are Yau Ma Tei, an 18th-century village, and the Lee Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum. The museum displays artifacts and cooking utensils, food containers, storage jars, bowls and basins from 1,700 years ago, arranged with models and plans that show the tomb's structure and layout. The tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
