Your guide meets you at the Arrival Hall exit with a sign bearing your name, then you travel by private air-conditioned vehicle for 2.5 hours to Huangyaguan. During the drive, you'll see the Tianjin countryside and Xingang Port while your guide tells the histories and stories of the region. You can ask questions as they come up. This section of the Great Wall stretches 42 kilometers with 52 watchtowers and 14 beacon towers built along it, making it a concentrated version of the wall's full scale.

Once there, you set your own itinerary. Hike as far as you want, stay as long as you want, and take in the natural scenery surrounding the wall. The Huangyaguan section is considered a miniature of the Great Wall itself: originally constructed between 550 and 557 CE and later repaired by General Qi Jiguang during the Ming Dynasty.
