The experience

The tour runs four days and three nights based in downtown Whitehorse. Each evening you travel outside the city to AuroraCentre, far enough from the lights to see the Northern Lights but close enough to return to your hotel. You'll spend the nights in sheltered comfort or beside a warm campfire, waiting for the aurora to appear. The guide is live and speaks English, Spanish or Japanese depending on the group.

Day two includes a guided city tour through Whitehorse's historic and modern sides: the SS Klondike, a paddlewheel riverboat from the 1950s; the Old Log Church, the oldest building in the city; and the Log Cabin Skyscraper, a three-story structure built entirely of logs. After the tour, Main Street is yours to explore: shops, galleries and cafés line the street. Afternoons on all three days are free. In winter you can add dog sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing or ice fishing at your own cost. Dinner is on your own before each evening's drive to AuroraCentre.

The package includes three nights in a downtown Whitehorse hotel, airport pickup and drop-off, the city tour, three aurora viewing sessions and a welcome package. You choose between single room or double room occupancy at checkout. The tour operates year-round in all weather conditions: dress warmly and be ready for last-minute itinerary changes at the guide's discretion. Aurora activity and visibility depend on sky conditions. No refunds apply if clouds, rain, snow or the absence of lights prevent viewing.
