The experience
You leave Canmore in the early morning and arrive at Moraine Lake just as the first light reaches the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Two hours here means time to walk the shoreline, find a quiet spot to sit, and watch the light change across the water and peaks without rushing. The guide shares local stories and knowledge about the landscape. Seating pads and blankets are provided for the cool morning, and hot coffee or tea is waiting.
From Moraine Lake you head to Lake Louise for another two hours. The turquoise water and the scale of the surrounding peaks are different from Moraine. This is where you can stroll beside the lake, rest in the alpine setting, or rent a canoe if you want to paddle out (seasonal, optional, not included). You'll also have time to walk through the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, an iconic hotel beside the water where you can take photos, explore inside, or grab a snack. On the drive back through Canmore, your guide points out the Three Sisters peaks and shares the local history of the area.
The tour runs seven to eight hours total and is limited to 14 guests, so the pace stays relaxed and the group stays manageable. National Parks fees, light snacks, water, and all beverages are included. Hiking poles are available if you ask. Pickup and drop-off happen from Canmore (or Banff or Calgary if you choose those options at checkout).
