The day starts with a 2-hour drive from Collingwood to Scenic Caves, where your guide outfits you with snowshoes and leads a 6km trail through the reserve. The route passes the longest suspension bridge in Southern Ontario, the real draw of the morning, and moves through snow-covered terrain at a pace that works whether you've snowshoed before or never strapped on a pair. Admission and gear rental are built in, so you show up and walk.

After the trail, you have 4 hours at Blue Mountain Village to do what you want. The village sits at the base of the mountain and holds restaurants, bars, gift shops and winter light installations.
