The Experience

I didn’t expect to start my day in Charlottetown talking about potatoes and moonshine with a stranger, but that’s exactly how it went. Josh—our guide, whose family’s been here longer than I’ve been alive—kicked things off by the water, telling us how different cultures brought their own food habits to PEI. We wandered along Great George Street (the old brick buildings are prettier in person than in photos), stopping at Peake’s for mussels.
