The Experience
The day starts with hotel pickup and heads straight to Miolo Winery, where a mini wine course walks you through five emblematic wines paired with breadsticks. Miolo is Brazil's largest wine exporter and has been family-run since 1897. The operation spans 1,000 hectares of vineyards and produces 10 million liters annually. The course gives you the vocabulary and the palate to taste deliberately for the rest of the day.
Next is Cave de Sol Winery, where a guided tour of the cellar precedes a premium tasting of six carefully selected labels at the on-site Vinheria. You'll receive an exclusive crystal wine glass as a keepsake. A brief stop at Devorata Trufas Artesanais (an award-winning artisanal chocolate and truffle maker) breaks up the wine tastings and offers a chance to pick up local delicacies. The final stop is Garibaldi Wine Cooperative, Brazil's most decorated winery, where another guided tour explains the winemaking process before you taste four more wines and the region's pure grape juice.
The tour runs 10 hours total and moves by van, minibus or bus depending on group size. A professional guide leads in Portuguese throughout. Roundtrip transportation from your hotel is included. You choose either the Canela meeting point (8:10 am) or Gramado (8:30 am). You must be 18 with a valid photo ID to drink alcohol. Passport or ID number is required at booking and must be sent to the operator's email immediately or the tour may not be confirmed.
