The experience

You start at Marina Barra Náutica at 8:00 am, check in, sit through a safety briefing at 8:15, and board at 8:45 for the 30-minute ride to Xavier Island. The boat arrives around 9:15, depending on conditions. At 9:30 you enter the water for a 30-minute dive or snorkel. Some participants dive while others snorkel, all under the eye of an experienced instructor who shows you the underwater ecosystem and the marine life around the island.

After you surface, there's time to float and recover on the boat. Around 10:30 you eat fresh tropical fruit and drink water while the boat heads back to the marina, arriving between 11:30 and 12:30. The whole outing lasts 3 to 4 hours depending on how many people are on your departure and the sea conditions that day. You get high-quality SCUBA equipment, the instructor's supervision, all fees and taxes, and the boat ride both ways.

The activity welcomes children from age 10 and suits all fitness levels, though you need basic comfort in the water. A guide speaks your choice of English, Spanish or Portuguese. If you want underwater video or photos, that's an extra charge at checkout.
