The Experience
The Cabo Branco lighthouse marks the easternmost point of the Americas, and the tour builds toward it. You leave Natal in the morning, travel 180km north with a comfort stop along the way, and arrive in João Pessoa to start with the São Francisco Church and Museum—a protected baroque complex from the eighteenth century with carved wooden altars and religious art that shaped Brazil's colonial heritage. From there the route moves through Praça João Pessoa and Parque Sólon de Lucena, the city's central squares, before reaching the lighthouse where you can stand at Ponta do Seixas and see the point where the sun rises first over the continent.
After lunch (your choice of restaurants in the city), the final stop is Jacaré beach, where the day can end quietly or shift into something else. A boat ride is available there if you want to stay for the sunset with live music—Ravel's Bolero plays during the ride—and the beach also has handcraft shops if you want to browse before heading back. The return drive to Natal takes the same two hours, arriving in the evening.
